Built Up Roofing

B.U.R.

In a traditional system, Built Up Roofs (BUR) are made of several layers of felt adhered together with asphalt or bitumen. These felt layers are typically pre-saturated with bitumen and then bound in place during installation with more asphalt. The layers of this material are cross-woven (or built up), giving it additional durability with every ply that is installed. With proper care and maintenance, commercially Built Up Roofs can last for many years.
